From reading the forums i know its unlikely to get bitten, but if you were bitten whilst trekking what would you do? Would you have to get back to Kathmandu as quickly as possible? Or are there villages on treks with hospitals that will stock the vaccine? Any info would be much appreciated!

Yes I would get back to KTM asap which should be possible from most places on the main treks pretty fast as you can head downhill quickly and should only take a few days at the most from all but a few places (obviously I am generalising but for the sake of a bite risk this info is plenty) but it is extremely unlikey to happen to you in the hills, so unlikely I wouldn't even bother thinking about it. Anyway its the monkeys and some dogs in KTM that are more of a worry. I've never been concerned whilst out trekking. I really wouldn't worry about it, just avoid the monkeys at Swyambu and don't munch a sandwich in front of them and you'll be fine. To be honest I would be more worried about being molested by a yeti the chances of a rabies bite in the hills is so small. ;)
