Nipping into Mustang for a few days

It this feasible from Kagbeni or Muktinath?I know it is illlegal but how strictly is it enforced if they even catch you?Im not talking about all the way to LoMantang just up the valley a bit.
Also are there any worthwhile side trips on the AC circuit that can add a few days to the trip?

Well, I don't think it is too difficult to sneak into Mustang. When I was there last September I didn't see anyone actively controlling permits. No idea what the penalty is, if any. You probably could get away with a daytrip or so.

Having said that, Mustang really only gets interesting after you get to Samar and then to Gheling, so at least 2 days from Kagbeni. So I am not sure about risk/reward if you are thinking about only going for a day or two.
