Phones still not working?

While the news services say that international phone lines are working I still can not get through. I even called customer service with my phone card and the gentleman said, "Due to political situations in Nepal phone lines are are not restored". I thought some folks have been talking to people in Nepal.
Can anyone offer insight.

Mobile (Cell) phone network is still down as I understand it - maybe you are trying to contact a mobile number ?

I have spoken to my brother in Kathmandu. He was calling out via an operator though, not me calling in. Mayeb there are incoming blocks still?
