Nepal will be my first stop in Asia. And hopefully the first of many! Does anyone know any good dorm bed hostel, that r on the cheap side! Or even where foreign back packers hang out. Any advice will be great. And if there are any gapies or backpackers reading this let me know?

There used to be a budget place called Sagarmatha Guest House in Thamel of course ... but now it is not existing anymore.. At least it did not last year.. :-) You will find many nice places around starting with Kathmandu Guest House.

You could try Cozy Corner, right in the middle of Thamel, near Le Bistro, and close to Kthmandu Guest House. You should be able to sleep there for 300-400 rupees per night. Common toilet.
For about 10 -15 dollars US per nigth there is Hotel Utse or Hotel Norling, as well as Kathmandu Peace Guest House.

Else, try Freak Street near Durbar Square. There are a number of cheapies there.
