I've got quite a bit of children's clothes that my 3 year old nephew has outgrown. Thinking of donating them when I head to Nepal next month. Who should I approach at Kathmandu or Besisahar or Bhulbhule? Pass them to the guest house owners, to the village chief, or just distribute to the children around? Will be doing the Annapurna Circuit and want to give them away before starting the trek. Cheers.

Nameste, how very thoughtful. Many adults abandon their children at a young age. You'll find these poor little street urchins huddles like a pack of puppies in the doorways of alleys thruout KTM early in the mornings before the city starts to wake up. Get the full enjoyment of giving these kids some clothes personally and watch them light up with joy. Your karma rocks! Happy trails

The leprosy Hospital would love them. There are babies and children there as well as adults. I took a bag of gear over to them when I was there last May. Leprosy is increasing in the children of Nepal.
You can drop them at Patan Hospital with a note on them that they are for the Leprosy Hospital and they will deliver them for you.
Pokhara also has a Leprosy Hospital :)

There is a hospital outside of KTM about 15 miles in Banepa called Scheer Medical Center, They have a web site and you could check with them as well. The Hospital is known for doing a lot of free work for the locals.
I have a daughter who is teaching school and working at the Hospital this year.

The Nepal Education Fund is a charity (registered in Nepal) which likely would very much need the clothes.
For info:

Susan Marshall (here in Canada) can be contacted for further info about how to help: nepeducation@yahoo.ca
see Susan's blog to see the good the charity does...
