You have to pay the Sagarmatha National Park entry fee which is 1000nrps. Available in Kathmandu and also on the trail near Monjo. Easy to get in Thamel from the permit office near Tredevi Marg (near Fire and Ice). Also you need to register yourself with TIMS which is a database that details trekkers movements so some attempt at finding you if you go missing can be made. This can be done for free at the NTB office or an agency will do it for a fee (while pressuring you to hire their staff).
Some guides and agencies will tell you you have to go with an agency but on the tea house trekking trails you do not (Everest, Annapurna, Langtang) so don't listen to them if they tell you that - unless you are planning to climb a peak or trek in a restricted area.
Nice name by the way!
