Theft is fairly rare in Nepal (at least in comparison to home or some other countries), especially whilst trekking but there are some hot spots where you must take care of your stuff, especially if camping.
I had not heard of problems up towards Mera before but this (http://www.dmmclimbing.com/newsArticle.asp?id=105) is worth knowing about.
Another person on the related thread also reported theft from near-ish to Lukla (thread (http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=328972&v=1#x4857148)). If you are planning a trek to Mera it might be worth asking your agency what they intend to do to guard your stuff.
