Namaste!

I'm considering doing the Annapurnas circuit with my wife in april. I hope to reach the sanctuary.
We should start our trek in Besi Sahar. Would you advise us to hire a porter/gude and a porter for both of us ? Is it possible to do so in Besi Sahar ?
What would be the cost ? What is the average price for a lodge on the circuit ?

Many Thanks

Guillaume

Yes, I would suggest a guide and a porter, especially if it is your first time in Nepal. If you find a porter/guide this is also possible... Cost are about 15-25 US dollars for a guide and about 8-15 for a porter.

For the lodge and food on trek you would need to budget 10-20 US per day, depending on how hungry you are, and if you want to drink coke or fanta or beer every day... They push the price up.

Email me if you want more info...

Namaste! From Kathmndu.

This is writing you from Nepal more than 24 years experience trekking, mountaineering and Tibet tour guide/organizer.

I can recommendation an experience porter/guide who can carry your backpack 15kg + 10 kg (own of porter/guide) = Total 25 kg daily, English speaking, 30 times have done Annapurna circuit and 15 times have done Annapurna sanctuary/base camp trek as a guide. His salary can be as follows:
1) US$15 daily: Cost includes: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner, daily allowances, all bus transportation and Life insurance etc. That guide can help you to issue Annapurna conservation ticket, bus ticket and to visit right place during the trekking days.

It is better to hire porter/guide from Kathmandu, through agency or someone/references who recommendation highly about him. Of course, you can get porter/guide at Besishar with cheap price but they do not have insurance, may not good equipments and may not sincere etc. What’s why, I can not say that they will help you 100% to catch up your goal.

I am agreeing with Yakshaver. He is writing good information to you.
