Hi,

There are so many things that triggers memories of Nepal for me. On a
chilly day when I somehow feel the smell of woodfire I am instantly
brought back to Nepal in my mind, and I long to go back there once
again.

The other day someone mailed me a trekking-question and I had to
bring out my maps. You know the old ones, blue print,

It reads like poetry to me. Isn't it beautiful?
I feel like going right away!

There are people who are simply cursed with the Nepal obsession. Glad to hear you are one of them Lars! There is no cure for it, I can vouch for that...

I also have that old Mandala published map, as well as one of Langtang, Helambu & Gosaikund. Amazing stuff. I paid 100 rupees for it in 1996.
I am already planning my 2005 trip although it is too early and I should get some more money (I have just renovated my house, and the banker is not happy...). But who cares! We only live twice.

I love maps! And I'll bet that one is a beauty, Lars.

I have collected a couple of dozen maps of Nepal. I think the Nelles Verlag / Schneider maps are the most beautiful, I'd love one hanging on my wall. The Nepal Maphouse series are more practical for trekking, especially the pocket sized ones.

I bought a few new maps before I left Kathmandu so I can more easily plan my next trip back, and I also enjoy the happy memories from looking at maps of places I have already been.
