Hello,
I am looking to trek in Nepal in late January and February. My plan is to spend about 3 weeks in the country and try and get a trek of about 15 days into this trip ~ preferably to annapurna, but I'm flexible on this. I will be travelling alone, but would prefer to trek with a small group. Do you think it would be advisable to try and book the Trek over the internet, or when I arrive in Kathmandu?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello John,
I would suggest scouting out a few trekking agencies in advance - email them with a rough plan of when & where you'd like to trek and ask for more info and prices. That would help you get a short-list of options, and probably a few more questions to ask. When you get to Kathmandu you can speak to them in person before you make your final choice and hand over money.
Hope that helps

If you would like to email me I'll give you the contact details for a guide I have used 3 times. I'm going back for a fourth trip this Fall with him. I recommend dealing directly with a guide who can provide a safe and enjoyable trek. He will make more and you pay a fair price rather than much of the funds staying in an office in Kathmandu. Yakshaver also has a guide he can recommend as well. sharona@whooshnet.com
