I just got back from Nepal and would like to share some information with you.

Good Hotel in Kathmandu: Hotel the Great Wall, Rs300, the owner Raju Bhatta is nice and helpful. http://www.hotelgreatwallnepal.com

The Worst Hotel in Kathmandu: Hotel Panda. A Nepalese friend came to the hotel to take me to sightseeing and they scared him away only because they wanted to take me out instead!

Good Hotel in Pokhara: New Solitary Lodge, great mountain view, big and well maintained garden, the owner Bhekendra Shrestha is the most decent man I've ever met during my two month's stay. http://www.newsolitarylodge.com

Not-so-good Hotel in Pokhara: Hotel Peace Plaza, the owner Bharat Parajuli is dishonest. He charged me 10% tax without telling me in advance. If you want to stay there, make sure that you get the best rate and tip the staff well. A young boy and a girl work there and they are not well paid.

Woman trekking guide and porter: 3 Sisters Adventure Trekking, owned by 3 sisters. They provide free training for girls from remote villages in Nepal and provide them opportunities to work as trekking guides and porters. http://www.3sistersadventure.com
