Hello!
I need some good advice. I am planning a return to Nepal in march. This time I want to trek the Annapurna circuit. I have two questions.
First question: IŽd like to go on my own. Is that irresponsible (maoists, crimes) and not to advice??
Second question: Thorang La pass. Can I expect it to be open in midmarch??

On any trek it would be good to travel with someone else. Not that the chance is big that you will encounter mishap. And there are many tourists trekking on their own. However it is always safer to have a companion. Not because of the maoists, simply because sometimes there have been cases of people being robbed in some areas (though not many).
The circuit is fairly popular, so there are good chances you can hook up with some other trekkers and do it together.

Thorung La is a high pass, so conditions can change at short notice, but in mid March you have a good chance to cross it, if you take it easy and acclimatize well. Since you have been to Nepal before you'll know all that...

First Question: Many persons do on their own the Annapurna circuit without any problems . There are many lodges and the way is not difficult to follow. Any way, you will meet others trekkers, and many times i started allone but finished the trek together with new friends.

second question: You never can predict exactly the weather conditions. But in most years people could cross TL from mit march on.
