Hi there
I am going to do the Annapurnatrek by mountain bike which takes you around 9 days for the total circuit. I intend to start around the 22nd of October. I am a 34 year old, swiss, male, good base condition but currently not super fit, I have biking experience from Switzerland.
cheers Marc

Please, please let me know how your trip went. I was thinking about doing the Annapurna Sanctuary trek on foot but now i am thinking about my bike. What an exciting prospect.

Riders have been doing Annapurna circuit for a number of years. You can't ride the whole way, in certain sections you have to carry your bike. I guess more and more of it is rideable all the time.
Bikes used to be banned but I think it would be hypocritical to ban bikes but to progress a motor road at the same time.......
I think that the Sanctuary trek would be a waste of time on a bike, unless you enjoy carrying it!!

had decided to walk the sanctuary trek, mainly because i only have a total of two weeks including nights in kathmandu and pokhora. I wonder if it would be possible to cycle the 'longer' circuit route in about the same time as walking the sanctuary ? !
Anyone have any ideas, or recomendations of reading material on the cycle option.

Minialan, why don't you google some travel websites, e.g Dawn Till Dusk MTB company in Kathmandu.

There is a lot on the web.

This (http://www.stanfords.co.uk/stock/biking-around-annapurna-103588/) map has been available for a few years. I dont know how much MTB specific info it has compared with the usual trekking maps.
