I was nearly murdered this may in the Kumbu. No I was not simply attacked by provocation they really tried to kill me! I went there because it was supposed to be the safest region in Nepal with the least amount of Maoist activity. Do to the situation in the country any kind of police or security is thin or non existent at best and we are talking about a third world country here. They are more concerned with the mao situation then looking for murderious thieves coming into the region. Besides they want to keep incidents like this quiet so as not influence the tourist industry negativly. Yes Nepal is a beuatiful country with many tolerant people but lets get over the fantasy of it as a paridise. We owe it to ourselves and the Nepali people.
