Tims Locations For Independent Trekkers In Ktm

Namaste. Does anyone know if the TAAN office in Thamel is now issuing tims for independent trekkers? Previous posts say they were not in the past. If not how long would it take to get to the NTB office at Brikhuti Mandap by cab from central Thamel area? Are there usually long lines to get these certificates? Am I correct that these offices are open Sundays? Thx again. Mtncanyon

Namaste. I just got this response from TAAN regarding TIMS locations. I think this means that you can get the TIMS at any travel agent counter which is a member of TAAN or from any TAAN location. Does anyone know where Maligaun is?

You are heartly welcome to the Himalayan Republic Nepal.
Yes it is possible to get a card for TIMS for an individual trekker if you not taking any arranged service from any of the governments' registered trekking agency.

For, both the group/organized and individual trekker you can get the card for TIMS from Nepal Tourism Board, Bhrikutimandap; Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), Maligaun or from any of the TAAN's member TIMS counter.

If it is convinient for you, Bhrikutimandap is also not far from Thamel. Every trekker who is taking other permits like of restricted areas, climbing & expedition except the National parks and conservation area permit need not to take permit card for TIMS.
