Well...I guess when violence becomes second nature and used as political influence, all bets are off. It looks as if the Maoist are changing tactics towards tourism. This may affect our decision of Nepal travel in 2005. It is so hard to control the actions of all Maoist involved, even though they have stated that tourists are not the target. Look Below...


**Maoists bomb tourist bus** - June 08 04


Maoist rebels exploded a bomb in a tourist bus parked in a garage at
Koteswor, Kathmandu.

There were no human casualties but the bus belonging to Yeti Travels was completely destroyed. The police are combing the area for the rebels. nepalnews.com pd June 08 04



**Maoists vandalize tourist bus, torch public bus**


Maoists on Thursday vandalized a tourist bus plated GA 1 Pa 41 in Malangpur VDC, Chitwan, Kantipur daily reported.

The incident took place when the bus was heading towards Tiger Tops
resort inside the Chitwan Royal National Park after receiving a British couple from Bharatpur Airport.

The report quoted the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of district police headquarters, Jagat Bahadur Bista as saying three Maoists tried to set fire on the bus but when the driver drove the bus away they pelted stones on the bus. Bista also said that when Maoists started pelting stones on the bus, the British couple left bus and headed to Narayangadh by ‘rikshaw’.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a group of Maoists torched a public bus plated Na 1 Kha 3697 at Jugedi while it was heading towards Narayangadh from Gorkha. According to the local police, the Maoists
evacuated the bus and set it on fire.
