Hello,
My husband and I are thinking of going to Nepal in early September. Is that the monsoon season? What will the weather be like? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sarah Robertson

Yes
officially it is the end of the monsoon season but every year its a bit different. (the peak season for hiking is Oct Nov)
Actually the monsoon this year appears to have started early so...?
I would say the end of Sep should be OK but its risky!

Hello there, the the answer what you have already got from the above information is true. Normally september is end of monsoon and should be all right to trek anywhere in nepal. if it is in the begining of sep. would still rain a bit but not after mid of the month.

Sepember is the end of Monsoon in Nepal. Upper part of the Annapurna region will have no rain. So you can do a trek not only in Annapurna but also Langtang and Everest region.
Moreover, I would like to suggest you to do your trek with Thirdpole Trek. Contact Mr Raj at thirdpole@wlink.com.np. I was a satisfied client of Thirdpole Trek I have done a trek with them several times. Mr Deepak Partner of Raj is the President of Trekking Agents Association of Nepal. So you will be in safe hand.
If you need any inormation about the trek or about Thirdpole you can directly write me at jessica@australiamail.com

I have been going to Nepal since 1978. Normally I trek Nov.-Jan. but 2 years ago I went in Sept. What a mistake. Monsoon season had not ended which resulted in wet trekking days, leeches beyond compare, and the worst bummer I missed the views of the Annapurnas once I got to high elevations due to cloud cover. That was worse than wet boots, leeches, and just miserable hiking conditions. But by 1st week of Oct. the sky parted and I was in Pisang and life took on incredible scenic journey. Wait until fall.
