Film Speed

I will be treking in the Everest Region mid Oct to mid November and was wondering what film speed would be most effective for a 35 mm camera?
I usually use 400 speed but wondered if I should be using something slower. What worked well for you?

When shooting slides I always use Kodachrome 64. Best film ever made.
400 semms to slow for all the bright days, with snow and all.
