Hi
I am planning to climb a trekking peak (Imjatse) at the end of Apr-May this year.
There are only two in our team (My wife and I) with good climbing experience. I have been out to the khumbu before as a trekker, and thought it would be nice to return and climb. We are on a tight budget and I am becoming bewildered with the options for organising it.
We want to trek to BC on our own and climb without a support team. Has anybody done this before ? Apart from the permit, the other costs include the sirdar, and the porters. I assume we would have to organise the permit and sirdar in KTM via an agency, that would then require flying him to lukla ? Does anybody know if it is cheaper to hire porters at Lukla ? And how much weight can a porter reasonably carry ?
Any advice on would be greatly appreciated....
