Has anybody come across a trekking company called Happy Adventure Treks & Expeditions based in Thamel?
I am trekking the Annapurna Curcuit commencing 12th April and Happy Adventure have arranged for a guide and porter, accomodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara plus internal flights. I wired a deposit of $300.00 to cover cost of flights which was paid into there account on 10th March 2004, which they say they have not received although I have supplied proof.
I cannot get in touch with the company by phone and they have not been in touch with me by e-mail since I supplied proof of the transaction.
As the 12th april is now only 10 days away I am becoming concerned, so I would be grateful for any imformation anyone can give me. Also what is the latest on the ground situation regarding the Maoists?

Thanks Yakshaver.
I have just received an e-mail from Happy Adventure insisting that the money has not been transferred to their bank, and my bank insisting it has. I have only had contact with Happy Adventure by e-mail, but they seem a good reputable outfit with a good website. I am hoping this can be sorted out before I get there, but if it isn`t I will write off the $300.00 and contact Thirdpole as you suggest.
My plan is to try and do the AC in 14days. If I am not on schedule to do this, to get a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. I have done the journey by bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara before with my knees up around my chin for 7 hours, and it is an experience I am not keen to repeat, what with terrorists and landmines and suicidal drivers as well!

People have done AC in 14 days, but as you know, you increase the risk of AMS. It is good you have the Jomsom "escape plan. Even if you just go and see Marpha (a trully beautiful Thakali village) and maybe Tuckche, and then return to Jomsom, you should be ok in 14 days. No need to go down past Tuckche anyway - by that time you would have seen the most interesting and representative parts of the circuit.

I have emplyed Thirdpole twice in the past, and found them most professional. Deepak and Rajendra (Raj) are great people.
