Hi - my wife and I (age 30) are planning a tea house trek to the Gokyo and EBC areas in late April/May, (from Lukla to Lukla) and need some advice....
Gear: We have lots of fleece stuff and gortex jackets - do we need down sleeping bags/jackets, ski gloves or gaitors at this time of year? Umbrellas? Do we need our thermarests, and what about pillows?
Backpacks - if we hire a porter/guide, would they prefer to use one of our backpacks, or should we bring a duffel bag?
Hiking Poles - good to have? one or two?
Porter/Guides - should we hire someone in Lukla or Katmandu? If we hire independantly, do we need to get insurance for them and what is involved for this?
Flights to Lukla - should we buy these in advance or when we get to Katmandu?
