trekking in April??

I am arriving in Kathmandu April 7th. I am wondering what is the best trek to do with limited time, and according to the weather. I plan on spending a few days in Kathmandu, which leaves me with only 2 1/2 weeks for trekking. I am also a female traveling alone, should I find others (for safety)?

Basically if you trek on one of the popular treks (Khumbu, Annapurna, or even Langtang to some extent) you will never be alone, and you can keep close to other trekkers. Often people join in de facto trekking relationships, as thei find it to be more fun.
Safety is an issue only in very few, and generally known areas. It is better though to be with someone else.

My wife and I are starting a trek on 11 April (we arrive in KTD on the 9th), probably AC, althoug there is a slim chance for Gokyo.

Thanks for the info. I think I have decided to do the AC trek, and try to extend my stay.
