It is a very nice trek, I went once from kathmandu to gosaikundI continued to Langtang valley and returnd by gosaikund to Helambu. ( total 4 weeks)
I started directly in Kathmandu from Boddnath stupa, after about interesting 4 hours on normal roads i reached the regular starting point of the helambu trek.
The main recommendation is, that you stay in the last lodge before laurebina la and start very early in the morning.
in April the spring sun already warms the snow and about 12 o clock it is so soft that is very difficult and strenous to walk in it.
