Hello
Thank you very much for this information it is extremely helpful.
Especially about the acclimatisation.
If Gokyo is too ambitious for 10 days I think that I will change my route.
Perhaps Ill spend a couple of days in Namche Bazar and trek to Thyanboche and back.
Do you think it will take two days from Lukla to Namche Bazar? If it does and Im there for two days then this is a round trip of eight days.
Regards
Terence

YOU DO NOT NEED A GUIDE OR PORTER

The reason that I will employ a guide/porter is beacause I believe that it is right to put something back into the economy of Nepal by providing work.
In this way the money stays in the economy of Nepal.

I want all of the money to go to the people who do the work and not a company that may take a large slice of the hard earned wages.

Their work is physically hard and not well paid.

It is important that we who employ guides/porters ensure that while we employ them that they have suitable clothing and medical insurance.

I have found that many people who hire independent guides do not do this.

I hope that by reading this more will.

There are links to organisations on this site that can assisst in matters of insurance.
