Departure date is comming closer and i can`t wait.
I,m leaving half februari for my first and hopefully not only trip to nepal.
I have visit many country`s in the past but this is maybe the first time that i,m so excited about this.
Mountains always attract me but somehow i never got in closer touch with the biggies in the world.
Well i guess the himalaya is not a bad way to start hehe.
I`ll take a short trek (roya trek) just to get a taste of a trek.
I can go higher and longer but i never took a trek for days before and i,m not sure if my condition is good enough to take a longer and higher trek.
Anyone familiar with the royal trek?
Well i,m off counting the days hehe.
take care everyone and happy climbing to all of you.

Grtz,

Alex

The Royal trek is a 5 day trek (I think) near Pokhara. It is not very difficult. It has been named as such because it was trekked by Prince Charles and the former Crown Prince Dipendra - before he wiped out his family in a drug induced rage - trekked it together sometimes in the mid 1990ies.

I have not done the Royal trek myself. You can do any number of short treks like that in the Annapurna region. One good one is the Ghandruk - Poon Hill one, which also takes about 5 days, depending on what other villages you might want to visit. Ghandruk is a very nice Gurung village, and the views from both Ghadruk and especially Poon Hill are memorable.

The lodge accommodation and food on these trekks is excellent.

Up and down to Chomrong, on the Annapurna base camp trail can be done in 5 days. Magnificent views from Chomrong. I did not walk the Royal trek, I have seen it on tv and I thing my option gives you more mountains.
Enjoy your trip, I have to wait until oktober to go back
