Hello All,

I am taking the plunge to Nepal for the first time, at the end of Feb 2004.I have been reading alot of different info re: what clothes to take for trekking the Annapurna Sanctuary at this time of the year.

I was wondering if people who have been there during this season could share with me their wisdom and experience re: appropriate clothing. My reason for this is that i am heading off to Thailand again after my 4 week trip in Nepal, and the climate is going to be completely different. So i am looking to avoid taking any excess items that i dont really need.

thankyou Duncan

be prepared that it will be very cold. Even at the end of march i had once a lot of snow and freezing dorms.
For the ABC a cosy down jacket is to recommend. you may not need while trekking, but in the early morning you can watch the great sunrise . People with just a fleece and goretex-Jacket tend to go back in to the lodge just after 10-15 min because of the bloody cold. i had once - 25°C up there!
But you can easely rent a down jacket in Pokhara for less than a USD per day, so that you dont have to cary all the stuff to thailand:-). Have also a very warm sleeping bag and a hat .
