Hi,
I am going trekking in Nepal in March, have not decided for sure what area. But, I have recently been seeing some very discouraging travel advice put out by consulates, etc., and deciding where I go depends on a realistic assessment of the dangers.
Please: Would people who are or have been trekking in Nepal recently (since the ceasefire ended) let us all know just what the experience has been like? Have you or anyone you talked to actually been forced to give up money or equipment to rebels? Where? What circumstances? How hostile were they, does violence against trekkers seem a real possibility? I think this info would be of help to others as well.
