One always expects bigger names to be reliable.In practise its not the name but the guide's and porter's nature how your trip will be while on trekking, so make sure that they are well paid before you depart for you trip.Recently there is a check point in Lukla (entry point of Everest base camp trek) to check their salary who has fixed the minimum rates for the workers.But in other regions like Annapurna and Langtang, workers are randomly paid mostly poor.

If you are a responsible traveller, you can be a part of changes for New Nepal.
