JJ,
these are some words phrases I have collected here and there.
I give absolutely no guarantee to their actual validity. Some of them
may well be straight Hindi and some utterly wrong.
Hindi and Nepali are very similar, but not totally so.
Note; Nepali is not an american accent. If you want to use any of these words please remember that this is an asian language.

JJ
even a few lessons (a hour a day)will do your wonders.
very difficult to get your pronounciation right from a book.
better to learn things right the first time.
i started out with the LP phrase book but ended up having to re-learn a whole lot when i decided to learn properly.
"malai thakai lagyo"
lit. I-tired-become
anyway, good luck. by learning the language you will start to understand the culture more.

So where can you take lessons in Nepali, in Kathmandu?
Is there any place you can recommend?
