The Himalayan Blues Festival will be held from 15th-19th October 2008..
Some of my friends are responsible for this event.. It will also feature Blues artists from around the world with ethnic Nepali musicians..

Something to watch out..If you are going to Nepal this October..

I would love to be there to see/hear that, I bet it will be very good. Sadly I will not be in Nepal in Oct. :( Is it on every year?

What ever happened to the Jazz festival? I went to it a couple of years ago in November.

I think it gonna be good...I am sure its gonna be good...Blues has always been the part of my life...And If we get to listen to blues, on the top of the world..its surely gonna be moment of a life time...

Sharon..I am not sure about the jazz festival though... Do they have jazz festival in Nepal?

Blues and Jazz Festival can be very fun when we are on vacation...
I think I should start booking tickets for the Festival..:D

I think I will be there as well.. Why not together enjoy the Blues with some beer together.. Let me know If you are around Kathmandu this October..

This can be a good appetite for tourists around Nepal. I am sure to see many trekkers at the Himalayan Blues Festival as well as around kathmandu this October..

I think We should have trekinfo.com gathering at the Festival..:D

Himalayan Blues Festival 2008 Schedule

Around Town (October 15th 2008, Wednesday)

The various bar venues around Kathmandu will resonate the sound of Blues on this day. The various Bar venues ( Salt n Pepper, De la soul, Bhumi) will feature various foreign and local artists. The total of 4 venues will feature various foreign and local artists, Salt n Pepper, De la soul, Bhumi.

Ticket Rs. 250/-

Patan Museum Sessions (October 16th 2008, Thursday)

The Patan Museum Sessions will showcase various forms of Music in one stage. The evening will combine World Music, Blues, Jazz and Ethnic Nepali sounds fused together. This evening will be different from others because of its variety.

Blues at Garden of Dreams (October 17th 2008, Friday)

The garden of dreams will be a class evening on the premises of Kaiser Cafe located on the wonderful historical garden. This will feature various all the Foreign and Nepali artists in one evening. Various blues merchandise will be on sale this evening. This ticketing cost will be 1250 rupees inclusive of a welcome drink and Dinner.

Big Blues Bang @1905 (October 18th 2008, Saturday)

This evening will be of extended jams. Various Artists will perform together make the blues sound very different from the rest evenings. This will continue pass midnight with an open stage for jammers.

Blues at Walter's Resturant and Bar(October 19th 2008, Sunday)

The local and the foreign artists will be performing together on this day to close the Himalayan Blues Festival 2008. This last day will be a bash for the audiences, artists and organizers.

Workshop at Nepal Music Center (October 17th 2008, Friday)

This workshop will be held at Nepal Music center and will feature clinics and workshop by various international musicians. This workshop will be an interaction program between international musician and students. This workshop will be free.
