I need some help judging what fitness level one should achieve before attempting the Base Camp trek. As it stands I can easily walk 12-15 miles a day for several days in a row with a 35 lb. pack. Is this good enough or should I be able to do more?
Also, will there be plenty of rooms available in April/May along this route or do I need to figure out a way to make reservations?
Thanks for your help,

Hi Beer,
You are absulately perfect according your message you.you could make everes base camp trek with out any problem walk slowly while accending.
There are plenty of Lodge through out area you do not need to book.If you are organizing through trekking agency, they will take care of Lodge and every thing.I have done Everest base camp about 50 time already as well as i have been trekked through out Nepal. You can ask me if you needed any information of nepal trek.Good Luck !!

Hi,
Ditto, fitness is not an issue for u. Just keep the acclimitisation halts
in mind ... from Namche to Lobuche, plan ur overnite stays based on the acclimitisation charts. Some days, u might trek a couple of hours only !!
Finding acco is not a problem anytime.
cheers,
- manish
