I am interested in information from trekkers who have been to Makalu Base camp at this time of year - Mid-October to Mid-November. What gear did you really need, food supplies/accomodation high up, temperatures (cf EBC say)?
I plan to bus to Hile then walk to MBC then back down and across to the Solo-Khumbu (Tumlingtar-Bupsa) then around the Everest region (which I already know well enough) and out to Jiri.
I plan to take a guide from the region (for the MBC return trip) as I doubt I will meet many others starting at the same time.
[Please note: I already know and have decided on my Nepali guide - ie others need not apply!.]
If you are thinking of doing this trek (leisurely - I have no real time constraints) at that time I would be interested to hear from you.
