Weather in August?

Has anyone any experience of trekking/ travelling in Nepal during August? Does the monsoon seriously effect road travel? Is it worth trekking?

Would I be better going some place else?

which part of the Annapurna Circuit, East or West side, was worse last year, weather-wise???

Hi Rich, I was on the circuit at end of monsoon so the start from Besi Shar to almost Manang was wet and miserable, and the views sucked. When monsoon finally broke I redid some of the trek to view the Annapurnas that I walked by in the clouds. Hardly worth the effort to get up there to high altitude and miss the incredible views. Have fun but consider late fall/early winter trekking season.
