Nepal to Ladak

After our visit to Nepal my wife and I would like to go to Ladakh.

What is the cheapest/best way to get there?

Hi, the only viable routes into Ladakh that I know of are to fly from Delhi or to take a bus or jeep from Manali in Himachal Pradesh (India). I took a state bus in 1995 and it took over 40 hours- one of the most incredible journeys of my life! I took a jeep back which took 22 hours non-stop. As far as I am aware the famous Karakorum pass, a caravan route up into Tibet, is not open to tourists. I do not know of a way to Ladakh except from India. In 1995 Ladakh was and remains the most amazing place I have ever visited.
