Hi everybody,
I am going to visit Nepal in mid April. Do you think is this
safe regarding the war in Iraq? As I am coming from Greece
my flight goes through Persian Gulf. I would also like to know if you
have heard anything about cases of atypical pneumonia in
the area.
Regards

There is no atypical pneumonia reported in Nepal. The situation seems to be more in the south east of Asia. And even there, it is not the big thing that is made out by the media.
Regarding safety in Nepal: it is safer than most other places on earth, and the war on Iraq should have absolutely no consequence. Nepal has no sizeable muslim population.

I will fly to Kathmandu on Monday :-))) and am also a bit worried because the flight from Amsterdam has a stop in Sharjah. I called the airline today and they were quite relaxed, saying that there should be no delays and cancellations so far. I hope this will be true!!!
I think all airlines will make a large turn around the critical gulf region, so maybe the flight will just last longer.
Have a good trip!
