Trek in Siklis valley/Lamjung

Hello trekkers!
I will be going to Nepal in April and am arranging a trek in the Siklis valley to the Lamjung Base Camp in the Annapurna region. I will be going with my husband and we are hiring a guide and porters.

My questions are ....

-Has anyone trekked in this area? If so, do you consider it a good choice (we are fine with camping and would in general like to meet locals more than other trekkers).

-Does anybody know of the current security situation in this area? I have read of some trekking companies who no longer trek to the Lamjung due to Maoist threat. Anybody know of more?
