I just wanted to know if it is at this moment (2003) necessary to be accompanied by a liasion officer for the Manaslu trekking.
I heard from a friend that maybe it is not.
We want to do this trekking in 18 days: is it possible?

Thanks for your help

It is not necessary to be accompanied by a Liaison officer. But you will be required to pay the restricted area fee which is USD 90 per week per person in the fall season and USD 75 per week per person in the spring season. You will most probagly be in the restricted area for about 10 days, hence you will be required to pay for two weeks.
Yes, the trek can be done in 18 days. But it would be better if you add a couple days extra.

My advise is that you do the trek with a registered trekking company.

I did the Manaslu trek but it was not the best trek I have enjoyed. Check out www.dungevalley.co.uk and click onto Trekking Nepal
