HI all
Planning a trip to AC arriving in KTM around 10th Nov, starting the trek around the 15th.

Is this still peak tourist time, or are the trekkers dropping off by this stage?
Is there a high likelyhood the tharong la will be closed by the time I would cross it (25th-27th)?
I believe the weather will be getting increasingly colder as december approaches.......IS this right?

Thanx in advance for any advise
Dan

November will be colder, but it should be nice and crisp with much better visibility than October. It is towards the end of the so called peak season, but this has been a bit of a missnomer over the last two seasons, as tourist number have dropped due to stupid paranoia and other psychotic disorders.

I suggest a good sleeping bag, good gore-tex jacket and down jacket if you can afford one, a beanie and sun-glasses. Also a sun-hat.

Thorung La will be open. Who exactly is going to close it? You could have snow if you are unlucky, but it can be crossed even with some snow on the pass if the weather is ok.

the Circuit is a fantastic trek, Enjoy it.

if you canmanage to see the lake, then in my opinion the pass is probably ok at that time.
