Does anybody reckon that halting attempts from the Tibetan side of Everest will lead to a knock-on effect in the Khumbu with increased/decreased traffic in April / May ?

*** post script *** just read news, and the whole debacle about whether the Nepalese side will be open is going on, so it could realistically be mean a drastic reduction in income for the area

(is it generally quieter doing a lodge trek independantly in late April / May than in October? ...do you end up competing with expedition support teams for rooms at the teahouses?)

Cheers

No real competition for tea rooms. Expeditions tend to sleep in their own tents, although they do sleep in lodges in Namche.
May is way too hot for me. December/January is better, with global warming and all that.
April is definitely better than May.
