The above is sound advice except there is no malaria in Chitwan.
Have a look at http://www.kantipuronline.com/archive/kpost/2002-7-5/kp_frontpg.htm. There was a suspected outbreak in July but tests found it to be Typhoid. According to government research there are a few pockets where malaria cases can be found but they are relatively rare since it was eradicated in 1954 and declared malaria free in 1960. The advice I have always been given (including from people in Chitwan) is that anti-malarials are not required. I have not taken them when I have been in Chitwan.
