Does anyone know what the current status is of the trekking circuits around Annapurna. I have a Lonely Planet of 2006, which says you can trek from Naya Pul to Muktinath and from Besisahar to Muktinath (and the full way of course). However, I just read in a different topic from which I thought to conclude that you could drive all the way from Naya Pul up to Muktinath by car. Is this true? It must make the trekking experience much less adventurous. And does anyone also have info about the other route, from Besisahar to Muktinath? Is there also a road built here? How far can you get by road? And from where will you actually be walking through the nature.

There is a road? track?from Besisahar to Bhulebhule, after here no more cars 4wds etc until you reach Muktinath. Then a road all the way to Tatopani. Very easy to get away from the road just cross over on one of the many swing bridges as there is a track on both sides. It's still a great experience!
