Khandbari area in June-August

I am a health volunteer in the Khandbari area next June and July. Are there any must-sees in the area? How severely will monsoon affect the trekking? I am a backpacker, but do not plan on bringing my own crampons-ice axes, etc. I will not likely have more than 9 days.
