No its not too early. I crossed the Throung La at the beginning of March this year. It was snowed in before and after we got there. It is slightly more likely to be snowed in earlier in the season but not by much. It can get snowed in at any time really. What is more of a concern is if there will be other poeple trying to cross and therefore a lot of pairs of feet to create a path through the snow. Breaking your own trail is very tiring and can be dangerous if your are inexperienced at altitude. In mid-march when you should reach the pass there will be plenty of people to help break trail.

The weather around that time is generally fine with the occasional snow storm so wait for a clear day and you should be fine.
