KANCHENJUNGA AREA:
Kanchenjunga unusually amazing peaks lies towards the far eastern part of Nepal and partly stands on Sikkim- the north- east of India. The third highest mountain in the world, at 8586 meters (28,169ft).
A journey to this area is a special treat- starting from the tropical lowlands through great rhododendron forests and lovely villages of east Nepal upto the glacier and overwhelming views.Kanchenjunga itself known as " five great treasure of snow" is a recently opened destination. It provides you with an adventure which will stay forever.
One of the most remote and beautiful areas in Nepal, which, unused to foreign visitors, still lies shrouded in mystery. The features of the walk in are pleasant villages with different ethic groups then in the high regions, glorious mountains and abundant wildlife.
The trails climb from 1200 meters (4,000ft) to 5180 meters (17,094ft) above sea level. Sixteen days minimum to 28 days maximum is the usual range for treks in the area.
Makalu Area:
The Makalu area in eastern Nepal is protected by the Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Project. Established in 1992, it covers 2330 sq km. Among the 16 mountains in the park, it is home to Makalu, the fifth highest mountain in the world (8463m/ 27,766ft).
This region is blessed with an incredible diversity of natural beauty and culture. Due to its isolation and lack of teahouses in this area still receives few trekkers. Sherpas, Rais, Limbus are main habitants in this region. Walking north up the Arun river to Seduwa and Num , then crossing Barun La (4110m) into the upper Barun Khola Valley for a close look at Mt. Makalu (8463m). You can oput together even wilder trek by crossing Sherpani-Col and West-col into the upper Hongu Valley. The second part of the trek is very difficult and almost impossible without previous experiences.
The trails rise from 850 meters (2,788ft) to 5000 meters (16,900ft) above sea level. To properly enjoy this area, 20 to 22 days are needed.
Dhaulagiri Area:-
This area in the western part of Nepal. The massive mountains range of Dhawalagiri consisting of fifteen 7000 meter peaks is magnificent. Trekking of the main paths is not only possible, but can be immensely rewarding, though you do need a sense of adventure and an increased ability to deal with unexpected.Geographically,it is a land of dramatic contrast.
Trekking in this region means an exploration of the wild. Recently reopened this thrilling region shows its long kept secrets, like the Gandaki Gorge, the deepest Gorge in the world !! Dhawalagiri means "white mountain" though many mountains over the world have names which translate to white mountain, this is without doubt the most astonishing one.
From the near tropicalPokhara valley, steep slopes climb to snowcapped Himalayan giants.Dhaulagiri, the seventh tallest peak in the world, towers high above the well-trekked Muktinath pilgrim trail up the Kali Gandaki valley. The vast massif screens the hidden land of Dolpo to its northwest.
Besides its unparalleled and impressing scenery, the Dhawalagiriincludes as you might expect in such a remote area, some very interesting indigenous people. Following the rivers upstream, ferns and forests of oak and other deciduous trees and juniper are interesting. Mountain sides of rhododendron blaze with colour in the spring, and other flowers are abundant on the trail. Even on high mountain passes above the tree line, tiny alpine flowers can be found dotting the wind swept ground.
The famous high mountain passes called French Pass (5360m) and Dhampus Pass (5250m/ 17,220ft), these passes offers great experience trekkers with excellent physical condition.
A altitude of the trails range from 900 meters (2,956ft) to 5360 meters (17,580ft) above sea level. The duration of the trek should be a minimum of 16 days to a maximum of 22 days
Manaslu Area:
It is a well-loved trekking routes, providing with pristine mountain views, rich culture and genuineadventure sum up the trek experience around the 8156m Manaslu. Opened in 1992, this area offers a combination of rich culture heritage, unsurpassed beauty and biological diversity.
Proximate the Chinese border, encircled by the eight highest mountains of the world, the Manasalu region offers you a real challenge. Its habitats, intact tradition and culture, high and remote mountain trails, will be a fascinating lifetime experience. Exploring the remote Manasalu region takes you back to the primitive world of the yester years. As you get closer to the Manasalu, civilization seems to fade away until the yaks outnumber the people in this rough, rocky landscape.
Beginning in Gorkha, home of the world famous Gorkha soldiers, visit the medieval palace of King Prithivi Narayan Shah. Soon after civilisation fades and we pass though middle ages villages, observing the simple agricultural habits of its people. Then we ascend the Gandaki River valley, fed by innumerable rivers and waterfalls, offering the chance of a plunge into some bathing pools.
Tibetan monks inhabit sacred monasteries and combined with the views of Tibetan plateau against stark white Himalayas makes this is a truly spiritual place. Continuing, more monasteries await in Larkya Bazaar, along with the biggest challenge - crossing Larkya La pass(5214m), waiting with great mountains views and then we decend from alpine to tropical areas, brusting with ferns, bamboos, pine, waterfalls and aque-blue green lakes laced with cotton- white beaches.
The elevation of the trails rises from 1100 meters (3,608ft) to 5213 meters (17,098ft) above sea level. The trekking duration is a minimum of 20 days to a maximum of 22 days.
