I will be fullfiling a dream of of lifetime come October. I will be doing a trek from Jiri to EBC or as far as I can get. My questions are what is the status of things along the Jiri to Namche I heard from HEC that last fall there was some major incident at Salleri. Are things settelled down there any. I know the the Maoits have said they will not target trekkers, ever trust a terriosts!? Also in trying to save weight in packing are trekking poles pile, pants and jacket etc... able to be leased in Katmandu. Anybody else leaving for Jiri around October 3rd the more the number the better maybe safer too. Thanks
