I am planning to go to EBC at the end of this month, do anyone know how can I buy a flight ticket from Kathmandu to Lukla in advance, as I am in tight schedule?
In addition, what kinds of clothing should I bring along with? Is Gore-tex jacket and trousers a must?
Thanks for all your advice.

You should not have a problem purchasing the ticket the day before you want to fly. With the number of toursits down, it should not be a problem. There are a number of airlines and any of the miriad of agents in Thamel can help you. If you plan to go to EBC, may I suggest Gokyo instead? It is a much nicer trek, and Gokyo itself beats EBC hands down as a final destination. Plus, most of the trek, bar the last two or three days is the same, so you go through Namche, Tengpoche etc.
Have fun

Daniel,
I am planning on heading off to do the EBC trek in November but am a little undecided. When you say Gokyo is much nicer in what way do you mean? and how does it beat EBC as a final destination? how does it compare to Kala Pattar?
I am just a little curious as I have heard varied stories about both.
One other question relates to above, I too plan to purchase a ticket to Lukla but can get one here (Australia) a little cheaper with RNAC... is it worth sticking with them or going with one of the private companies?
Sorry for the long post and thanks for any advice.
Cheers
